In light of a comment on one of the articles on the FP saying they didn’t like personalized plates, I’m sure many of us here have one. Let’s see what you’ve got!

Previous car - 2011 Mustang GT 5.0.

Current car. If you squint your eyes and looks closely, you can sort of see my blue oppo sticker at the bottom center of the rear windshield.

Long ago I had “500 CAD” because cubic inches, and the MA registry reserved the XXX### pattern for themselves so I couldn’t get CAD500. But I let it go a few years ago - couldn’t justify the more than double cost to have a personalized plate.

In MA registration typically costs $50 every other year. But registration on a custom plate is $65 PER YEAR.

Wow, my annual registration, even for my 7 year old POS Honda Fit is close to 200 bucks. Personalized plates are another 50 on top of that.

Here the registration fee is just a flat fee to the state for the license plate, everyone pays the same. Excise tax on the vehicle by value is collected by the town you are registered in.

Doesn’t really count since it isn’t a real tag, but since Mississippi doesn’t require a tag on the front and since the car had the holder on it when I bought it, I figured why not have a little fun.

I am contemplating getting a U of Mich plate in my state, which just got the maize M on the left. Then the plate would say EFF ER. The DMV initially approved it, but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
